I got sorted into Hufflepuff and although I try to stay positive, I feel so let down and depressed. Because even if you deny it, you think, just like everyone else, that Hufflepuff is the useless bunch. So I guess that means I’m useless too- as well as all of us “extras” who were placed in Hufflepuff.

There’s nothing wrong with being a Hufflepuff.

Hufflepuffs are characterised as the hard workers and the loyal bunch of the school. We’re not ‘extras’. Just because Hufflepuff isn’t glamuorized like the rest of the houses doesn’t mean it’s any less good.

And it doesn’t make us ‘useless’!

I could have so many Hufflepuff rants, the other day I saw a post talking about ‘stopping house hate’ and it said something along the lines of ‘not all Gryffindors are brave, not all Hufflepuffs are weak.’ I’m sorry what, but whoever said Hufflepuffs were weak? I don’t mean to get angsty about it but what is wrong with valuing equality, tolerance, justice, friendship and hard work (although admittedly I do very little of the latter) over other qualities. It doesn’t mean we can’t be brave, wise or cunning - we just don’t place as much importance on them as others do. Boom. rant over
